In addition, many individuals freely give their time, energy and enthusiasm to make Get SET the wonderful, enriching program that it is. In the interests of privacy, we do not list them here.
Why Give to Get SET...
There is a strong and continuing need for programs like Get SET which encourages young women to be self-confident in their knowledge of science, math and computers and develop leadership skills
20% of GetSET graduates go on to major in technology fields in college. This is far above the average for this demographic group, which is about 3% of minority women that go into technology fields.

Statistics from the Computer Science Department at Virginia Tech convey this alarming fact...
"The 1995 graduating class from Virginia Tech's Computer Science program was comprised of 45 males and only 3 females"
And according to a recent report by the EECS Ad Hoc Committee on Women Undergraduate Enrollment in Course VI at MIT...
"Women, much more so than men, feel that they have come to MIT 'less prepared to major EECS (electrical engineering and computer science) than their peers, and that both women and men consider EECS to be a very competitive major...Whether perception or reality, the difference in background is likely to be a significant factor in discouraging women from entering the department."
